Position SummaryLocated 45 minutes from the Nation's Capital, nestled in a history-rich community of southern Maryland, The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) is a two-time Aspen Award-winning institution (top 15% of Community Colleges) with academic programs in over 100 disciplinesCSM is among America's top 100 producers of Minority Associate Degrees in twenty categories, according to Diverse Issues in Higher EducationCSM offers excellent health insurance benefits; State Retirement Pension plan; wellness programs; Code Green early closure Fridays in the summer; college closure for spring break and several major holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year; and for several days in March for Spring BreakWe are an innovative institution committed to student success and well known for our flexibility to meet student and community needsThe individual in this position is the primary point of contact for the Adult Education and Family Literacy Services (AEFLS) grant awarded by the State of MarylandThe Director serves as the Program Administrator and represents the program to the community, develops programs, courses and services that prepare students for the Maryland High School DiplomaCourses are also development for English Language Learners and Family Literacy programs under the requirement of the AEFLS grantIn accordance with the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) courses are developed to specifically direct students toward the workforce and/or to become licensed and/or a credit career pathwayThe Director manages the day to day operations of the program for three counties (Calvert, Charles and StMary's)The director oversees a staff that plans, organizes, and manages professional development, evaluates staff and programs, manages related budgets, and represents AEFLS to the public in order to ensure full student enrollmentThe College of Southern Maryland conducts background checks in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the College's staff and studentsThe final candidate for this position will be subject to the following background checks:

Essential Functions:
Provides leadership in the development, promotion, operation, and evaluation of departmental activities including all aspects of relevant adult education coursesDevelops a business model of operation including all aspects of relevant adult education courses and servicesCoordinates and networks with appropriate businesses and community agencies/activitiesContributes to annual college wide strategic planning process; develop unit's strategic plan with staffSecures state and federal grant funds to support AEFLS activitiesRecruits qualified adjunct permanent faculty to teach AEFLS coursesSupervises staff; ensures appropriate staff development and serves as hiring coordinatorEnsures staff follows the continuing education production development timelineIn cooperation with the Director of Adult and Community Education, develops an annual budget utilizing grant funds, monitors expenditures and co-managers the AEFLS cost centers (total)Coordinates with scheduling on all CSM campuses (LaPlata, Prince Frederick, Leonardtown and The Center for Trades) and related equipment issues, as applicableEnsures that facilities and equipment are safe, sanitary, and adequate for activities scheduled and in accordance with ADA standardsAttends state Affinity Group meetings, local partner/board meetings and community college adult education affinity group meetings once a monthCreates and maintains a customer service and support culture of excellenceAdditional Duties:
Performs other related work as requiredMinimum Education and Training Master's Degree preferred/Bachelor's degree requiredMinimum of six years of experience in an Adult Education and Family Literacy Services funded adult education program Instructional leadership experience Grant management experience Strong organizational and interpersonal skillsMinimum Qualifications and Standards Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated success operating adult education program(s) Demonstrated success developing and maintaining public-private sector partnerships with local community partners Evidence of strong leadership ability and customer service skills Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills Physical Requirements :
The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
