Coletta of Greater Washington is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and secondary disabilities.
We are currently seeking a Controller with strong leadership skills who has demonstrated planning, decision-making, problem-solving capabilities; and ability to work independently.
Examples of Essential Functions Supervise either directly or through a subordinate, contract worker engaged in various operational maintenance, janitorial and security activities.
Make regular inspections of buildings, vehicles, grounds and equipment to determine if janitorial, maintenance and security services are adequate or if repair work is needed.
Establish an on-going calendar schedule of inspections and reviews for all facilities; monitor schedule to ensure that inspections are carried out timely, responding to any deficiencies and follow-up and reschedule final inspections; and maintain an active file of all certificates.
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; perform routine maintenance as required Ensure security of building access through use of alarm systems and door locks.
Establish and maintain a maintenance log.
Develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan.
Coordinate grounds keeping and other maintenance activities.
Maintain an inventory of supplies, and a tool control system.
Assess the current condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems in the building.
Create monitoring systems or programs in the institution to detect problems as early as possible.
Develop a system for cleaning, repair and maintenance of facilities.
Qualifications High Diploma and 5 years of supervisory experience in building maintenance work.
Facility Management Professional (FMP) Certificate and School Facilities management experience preferred.
Excellent organizational & communication skills and attention to detail.
